Antique Welsh Oak Low Dresser

A well-proportioned low dresser made entirely from boldly figured native oak which has acquired a great variety and intensity of colour with rich patina. The stepped, galleried back sits above a single-plank top, three drawers and a single-piece frieze which is gently arched and undulating. The four substantial front legs have vase and ring turnings above a moulded - front potboard. The two rear feet have been re-tipped. South Wales, probably Glamorganshire/Breconshire borders, circa 1790-1820.
