Description

A beautiful and unusually large still life oil painting of plums, peaches, grapes, gooseberries and strawberries by much sought after still life painter, Oliver Clare, signed lower right. Provenance: bought from Christopher Cole Fine Paintings.

Oil on canvas 29 x 34cm, beautifully presented in high quality gilt wood frame.

Oliver Clare (1853 - 1927) was a successful and very talented still life painter of fruit and flowers. He was from a prolific family of still life painters, his father George and his brother Vincent. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and Royal Society of British Artists.
