Brief Description:

This is a wonderful Original 19th-century Watercolour Painting by listed American artist Madeline Hughes (1814-1907).

The beautifully detailed work portrays three young Fisherwomen walking across a sandy beach wearing their woolly clothing with Dutch clogs.

The young ladies are all carrying their fishing tackle equipment, probably the fishing tackle in which to catch crab or similar.

Madeline Hughes was a painter of such Dutch scenes and her paintings are held in collections around the world.
