Antique Turkish Obruk flat weave kilim / cover in cicim technique.

Circa 1900.

A good cicim with excellent colour and large scale diamond lattice design, cicim is an embroidered weaving technique. This is an outstanding example of cicim work from the town of Obruk, which is east of Konya in Central Turkey. The design in white stands out against the woven red cloth used as the base material.

This could be used as a throw or cover for furniture / bedding or on the floor in low traffic areas, or it would make a stunning wall hanging.

Excellent condition with very slight wear.
