Cotswold Oriental Rugs has dated this piece to the 1890s.
Antique Baluch rug with a repeat gul design on a camel ground.
Circa 1890.
There are influences of both Khorasan Baluch and Bahluli Baluch in this rug; Bahluli Baluch rugs are fairly scarce and originate from the borders of Western Afghanistan and the Khorasan region of eastern Persia.
The main border is a very traditional Baluch design of a meandering vine.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile. There is slight wear to the side bindings and ends.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
