Antique Timuri / Baluch rug from Western Afghanistan with repeat shrub design.

Circa 1880.

A good Timuri Baluch rug of small size from Western Afghanistan, with repeat rows of flowering shrubs or trees. The design is in soft madder red and indigo blue, the indigo blue has a superb quality, catching the light and known to collectors as 'electric blue'. The rug is framed with a traditional border design.

The rug is in good condition with even wear and medium pile, there are a few scattered old re-weaves, this is reflected in the price.

A good Timuri rug with excellent wool quality and superb colour.

The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
