Antique Tekke Turkmen rug of fine weave and small square size.
Circa 1880 or earlier.
These rugs are considered to be ‘dowry’ weavings used by the Turkmen bride on her wedding day.
Note the complete elem panels at both ends, there are beautifully drawn and retain the original ivory kilim end finish, (A little worn in places).

The rug has very fine soft wool with excellent colour, the rug has a very floppy handle.
The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium pile.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
