George IV Mahogany Combination Wardrobe/chest

Description

Circa 1825. A quality George IV mellow mahogany combination country house wardrobe/chest of drawers, the large 7 drawer chest flanked by 2 castellated ends with stylish elegant moulding above full length panel door in flame mahogany, all with turned cow horn handles (bovine), the scale of the piece giving a monumental amount of storage. Beneath the doors and the drawers is further mouldings and the robe rests on an enclosed plinth which follows the form of the top.
