This is a fine quality antique English George V pair of watercolours paintings, by the Royal Academy Artist, Henry Charles Fox, of a rural scene depicting sheep herding, in their original gilt frames, circa 1915, in good original condition.
The trees are bare of leaves emphasising their structure and height. The colours blend well together showing bracken and felled logs in the foreground, with hazy mist in the distance and a barn in need of repair. Henry Charles Fox has mastered the exact way sheep all stand and stare; a very relaxing scene with no urgency to hurry along. The pair of watercolours have the skill to draw you in with its range of rustic / pastel colour hues and textures. They are signed and dated in the bottom right corner; framed in their original mounted gilt frame, protected by glass, which are in good condition.
