ANTIQUE #SA1166167

Watercolour Of A 16th Century Cavalier

£475    $641    €555
An early 20th Century watercolour of great quality and detail, depicting a 16th Century cavalier sporting a royal crown.

It is likely to be the shakesperian actor Edmund Kean playing King Richard III in around 1817.

His attire is sumptuous and the detailing quite remarkable.

The work is in great condition, and housed in an early 20th Century frame. However the watercolour is quite possibly of earlier date (1850’s?)

The watercolour bears a circular stamp on the bottom right hand corner which is difficult to decipher without taking it out of its frame.
