Antique Baluch or Timuri blue ground prayer rug with 'tree of life' design.
Circa 1880 or earlier.
This is a very old and interesting prayer rug, the superb light indigo blue ground is most unusual. The field design is a repeat tree of life, the main border is a star design. The hand placements are of a tree or shrub design.
The rug is in good condition with even wear, and low pile. The rug retains it original long kilim ends. There is heavy corrosion to the olive browns through out the rug.
The rug is ready for use or display.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
