William Boyce - William Thomas Nichol Boyce (1857-1911). Marine and landscape painter in oil and watercolour. Originally from Norfolk he moved to South Shields in 1872. He became apprentice joiner and later worked in a draper shop before becoming a full time artist. He worked far more often in watercolour and there are more examples of watercolour work than oil.
