He worked far more often in watercolour and there are more examples of watercolour work than oil.Boyce exhibited at the South Shields Art Club,The Berwick Art Club Newcastle. and from 1905 until his death at South Shields the Artists of the Northern Counties exhibitions at the Laing Art Gallery Newcastle.Three pieces of his work were included in the ‘’ 1300th Festival -18 th Century Artists exhibition at the Sunderland Art Gallery in 1974.
