Here we have a very rare WW1 double sided moonphase calendar pocket watch in gun metal grey, the white dial having Roman numerals and five minute number markers, a rolling moonphase in the centre and a subsidiary seconds dial at the six o''clock position, it is signed for Calendrier Brevette above the moonphase, on the reverse is a working calendar with an inner date ring and outer weekday ring.
Around the edging of the main casing is an inscription reading '' J.H Puckering in memory of Robt. Woddward Killed In Action 9 May 1915 (battle of Aubers, first world war)
The loop aboce the crown is stamped 925 silver, the watch is very likely by J Verhagen & Co. Koeln, Calendrier Brevette German Manufactury.
This is a very rare watch and is in running order, there are two hairline cracks on the dial, it will be sent tracked delivery.
