Description

Here we have a very rare WW1 double sided moonphase calendar pocket watch in gun metal grey, the white dial having Roman numerals and five minute number markers, a rolling moonphase in the centre and a subsidiary seconds dial at the six o'clock position, it is signed for Calendrier Brevette above the moonphase, on the reverse is a working calendar with an inner date ring and outer weekday ring.

Around the edging of the main casing is an inscription reading ' J.H Puckering in memory of Robt. Woddward Killed In Action 9 May 1915 (battle of Aubers, first world war)

The loop aboce the crown is stamped 925 silver, the watch is very likely by J Verhagen & Co. Koeln, Calendrier Brevette German Manufactury.

This is a very rare watch and is in running order, there are two hairline cracks on the dial, it will be sent tracked delivery.
