A Turkmen, Ersari design, handwoven runner, approximately 8''8'' x 2''8'', Circa 1930. This runner has a red coloured field with two columns of Ersari quartered guls, enclosed by multiple repeating red coloured borders. A hand-knotted old rug, with selvages and fringes to both ends, and selvages down both sides. Wool pile and foundations. Appears to be Afghan in origin.
A good quality old runner, well worn in, but presents well, and ready for use.

This rug measures approximately 265 cm long including fringes, and 82.5 cm wide.

Some losses to the selvage ends and fringes. A good regular shape for an old runner. The rug has been vacuumed, deodorised, and treated for moth prevention.
