Large hand carved Thai/Burmese standing statue of Buddha, c1880. This is a heavy (8.3kg) well carved example, with just the right amount of wear /rubbing to the lacquer and coloured mirror glass decoration. Mainly carved from a single piece of wood (the hands look to have been carved separately it stands on a typical base . The facial features, robes etc have good detail and overall it has a lovely serene look. It has a great look and would display well in a modern or traditional setting.
