Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Grand Tour bronzes are decorative metalware objects produced during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, acquired by European aristocrats travelling through Italy and Greece as educational souvenirs.

These vessels were cast using sand-casting or lost-wax techniques, finished with hand-chased relief details, and frequently mounted on polished marble or stone bases.

Authentic period examples display natural patination with dark oxidisation in recessed areas, hand-tooled decorative crispness, and traditional threaded rod fixings beneath the pedestal base.

Position the pair symmetrically on a fireplace mantelpiece, sideboard centre, or within a library bookcase to introduce classical proportion and historical texture.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply microcrystalline wax sparingly to preserve the patinated surface against airborne moisture.
