Jean Denis Maillart (1913-2004) LARGE STRIKING FRENCH OIL PORTRAIT PAINTING

Brief Description:

This is a large striking Oil on Canvas Portrait Painting by listed French artist Jean Denis Maillart (1913-2004).

The fabulous-looking piece depicts a young trendily dressed gentleman who is wearing a shiny silk shirt with a shawl hanging over one shoulder, bejewelled by the gold chain and pendant that hangs around his neck.

Seemingly an unknown sitter, although it is said that the gent in the painting has a very strong resemblance to the American Actor David Barnes in his younger years.

The work is signed lower corner and it is mounted within the spectacular quality and original gesso moulded frame.
