A George II chest of drawers of small proportions in walnut, the quarter veneered top with boxwood and ebony stringing and crossbanding, with moulded edge over pine sides and four graduated drawers with similar stringing, and with brass handles and lock escutcheons, raised on bracket feet. English circa 1740.

Condition: Overall very good, the chest is in very good condition with no significant damage or restorations, there appear to be a couple of pieces of veneer that have been replaced, one of the handles has been replaced otherwise the handles appear to be the originals, one of the lock escutcheons has lost the end sections, and one of the drawer handle backplates has a minor loss. Overall the chest has a very pleasing appearance with lovely proportions, well chosen veneers with beautiful grain, and it has a nice warm colour and the silky feel of walnut furniture.
