An ale muller is a specialized metal vessel designed to warm ale, cider, or wine. Popular in British taverns and households during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the cone- or boot-shaped vessel was filled with liquid and placed directly into hot fireplace coals to heat drinks quickly.
