Neat Sized Regency Chiffonier

Description

Circa 1850. A neat size mahogany and brass Regency chiffonier. The raised back with ¾ shelf supported by a pair of turned brass columns, with paneled with brass mouldings. To the front a full-length drawer with original brass knob handles, in the base a pair of doors with brass trellis work with pleated silk backing, flanked by a pair of elongated Egyptian warriors in gilt and brass with a tapering pilasters beneath finishing with brass feet, with a simple beading that follows the form of the chiffonier, all resting on three bulbous feet.
