Rams Head Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The work is signed by the artist R. Dumans (after Boucher) and is in excellent condition. It is in a beautiful bronze ormolu easel frame which is a heavy and very good quality piece that compliments the work finely.

Francois Boucher (1703-1770) was a French painter, etcher and draughtsman who famously worked in the Rococo style. He is well renowned for his idyllic and voluptuous paintings on classical themes, decorative allegories and pastoral scenes. He was perhaps the most celebrated painter and decorative artist of the 18th century.
