Afghan Baluchh, antique, handwoven prayer rug, approximately 5'6.5" x 3'5", Circa 1900. This rug with field of central mihrab, enclosed by multiple repeating borders. A hand knotted, rug with soft flexible pile, long fringes and selvages to both ends. Wool pile and foundations.

Dimensions:

This rug measures approximately 169 cm long including fringes, and 104 cm wide.

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This rug is in reasonable condition, commensurate with its age. Small loss to one edge near the corner, see picture, which has been stitched to reduce further loss. Some shrinkage to one end across the selvage, not unusual for an old handwoven rug. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
