Description

This striking Caucasian rug with a cartouche in the lower part of the field indicates a weaving date of around 1907, and probably comes from the Karabagh region. It is a very charming and charismatic piece. The use of bold colouring and large geometric ornaments immediately makes a statement which is supplemented by the cute little human and animal figures. But the overall composition is well-spaced and uncluttered which gives a very harmonious impression. The size is also excellent for decoration in many types of settings. In very good condition, and professionally cleaned.
