Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Early 19th-century pastoral paintings typically depict idealised rural life, livestock, and peaceful countryside scenery. Influenced by the Romantic movement, artists emphasised natural lighting, tranquil atmosphere, and traditional agrarian scenes.

Artistry from this era involved oil pigments applied to stretched linen canvas or wooden panels. Frames were predominantly constructed from timber with applied gesso mouldings and finished with hand-applied gold leaf.

Authentic period paintings feature natural age craquelure across the paint surface, gradual yellowing or darkening of historical varnish, and hand-carved or molded gesso frames exhibiting natural gilding wear.

Pairing artwork symmetrically above a sideboard, mantelpiece, or in a hallway adds historical texture to contemporary interiors. The rich gilding creates contrast when set against modern muted paint palettes.

Keep artwork away from direct sunlight, radiators, and areas of high humidity. Dust frames gently with a dry, soft-bristled brush, avoiding water or chemical cleaners on gold leaf surfaces.
