Antique Heriz Carpet

A fabulous antique Heriz carpet from the early 20th Century, dating around 1900-1910 and in with amazing yellow dyes!  A fine weave and lovely soft wool pile can be seen throughout this rich and vibrant antique carpet from North-West Persia.  Heriz have always been regarded as tough, decorative rugs and this wonderful example is a prime example.  With stunning natural dyes, the yellow is a rare colour to find in a piece from this region, more often using pale blue dyes or reds for the corner spandrels.  This golden yellow dye is quite something and adds lots of life to this finely woven antique carpet.  The medallion and border design has been wonderfully executed too, clearly woven by expert weavers.
