Description

19th century Oushak carpets from Western Anatolia. remain perennially popular. The spacious largescale drawing of the designs and the dramatic colours work extremely well in both traditional and contemporary settings. This is a delightful example. The design is true to form, with largescale palmettes and other floral ornaments arranged in an all-over design. However, the colour scheme is quite unusual, especially the sapphire blue field and gold border. It is a statement carpet which would transform a space in a harmonious way. Professionally restored and cleaned, it is ready for immediate use.
