Antique Isfahan Rug, Classic Design, Fine Weave with Silk Highlights, Circa 1920.

Description

Size: 6ft 11in x 4ft 9in (210 x 145cm).

Antique Isfahan rug with small medallion design on an ivory ground.

Circa 1920.

The rug is of a fine weave with lambs wool pile on a fine cotton foundation, the rug has a floral design to the field, the rug has an overall warm colour palette with a light blue to the corner design. The ivory highlights throughout the rug are in silk. The border is of a classic design and very well drawn.

The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and good pile, there are a few finger tip size spots of heavier wear and some age related corrosion.

The rug is suitable for normal domestic use such as a bedroom or living room.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use.
