An antique Persian Afshar, handwoven rug, approximately 5''10'' x 4''5'', dating from the 2nd half of the C19th. This old rug has a field filled with boteh motifs, enclosed by repeating stylised flower borders. A hand knotted, rug with short medium pile, short fringes to both ends. Wool pile and foundations.
A well worn in old rug, full of charm and character, lots of aged wear but still ready for use.

This rug measures approximately 177 cm long including fringes, and 135 cm wide.
Condition:
Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This rug is in original, well worn, aged condition. Wear to the pile and the fringes. A spilt to one corner. Fringes with some losses. Aged and slightly miss-shaped, though this is an old handmade rug, and this is not usual in a well used piece. Clean and ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
