Where should I place a tier table?

These stacked tables suit corners, beside seating, or flanking a fireplace where vertical display space proves useful. Their compact footprints allow them to fit snugly into smaller rooms without crowding the floor area.

How do I care for antique wood?

Dust the surfaces regularly with a soft cloth and avoid placing timber furniture in direct sunlight. Applying occasional natural wax preserves the depth and sheen of the grain. Keep these tables away from extreme temperature shifts and heating vents to prevent the timber from splitting.

Can these tables hold heavy objects?

Sturdy hardwood construction allows lower tiers to support heavier items like stacked books or ceramic bowls. Upper shelves suit lighter decorative objects and small lamps. Ensuring the central column and leg joints remain tight maintains overall stability under load.

What defines an etagere?

An etagere consists of several open display tiers supported by slender uprights or columns. This format originated to showcase decorative porcelains and small ornaments. Unlike standard side tables, the primary purpose remains exhibition rather than serving.
