Regency Irish Mahogany Dumbwaiter

Description

A good quality Regency mahogany round Dumbwaiter, the tiers with slightly dished centres and moulded edges, separated by ornate brass rods with collars top and bottom. All raised on a fluted column, with carved acanthus legs terminating in paw feet and sunken brass castors. Superb timber, colour and quality. In good original condition. Circa 1820.

This nineteenth-century Grand Regency dumbwaiter takes the form of a round two-tiered side table fashioned from dark brown mahogany. The circular top tiers display moulded edges and slightly dished centres, joined by ornate turned brass support columns with collars at top and bottom. The structure rests upon a fluted central pedestal supported by carved acanthus tripod legs that terminate in detailed paw feet with sunken brass castors. The timber exhibits a rich dark brown colour and clear grain pattern throughout.
