Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Welsh dressers from the 18th century are characterised by their regional construction traits, typically featuring solid oak timbers, pegged joints, and open potboards or shelves designed for domestic utility and display in rural farmhouses.

These pieces were constructed predominantly from native English or Welsh oak, joined using traditional mortise and tenon techniques with wooden trammels or pegs, often accompanied by hand-hammered brass drop handles and escutcheons.

Authenticity is assessed by examining timber patination, hand-cut dovetails on drawer boxes, tool marks from pit-saws or adzes, shrinkage cracks, and consistency in wear around frequent contact points.

An antique dresser base functions effectively as a sideboard in a contemporary dining room, a media console in a living space, or a bold focal point in a hallway, contrasting clean modern architecture with historical texture.

Preservation requires maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct heat sources or strong sunlight, and periodically applying traditional beeswax to nourish the wood without stripping its historic patina.
