Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
1780. It has a moulded cornice with dental moulding above two over six graduating Walnut lined drawers with brass swan neck handles and cock-beaded edges. This splendid Georgian chest stands on shaped bracket feet and splits into two sections for easy removal. It has also has a brushing slide with two brass handles. The Mahogany has aged to a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of antique wax finish.
