It was listed by Tom Scott Antiques. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.

The hand painted faux marble top is beautifully done and has a well polished finish to it, so it is not obviously painted rather than marble. The chest itself has a good consistent mahogany colour tone to it, cleaned and beeswaxed to bring up the finish.

Very decorative piece and would sit well for a number of uses, happily accommodating a large pair of lamps and a gilt mirror as a hall or living room console, or as a storage piece for the bedroom.
