The artwork sits behind original glass within an arched card mount featuring a gilded inner slip and a warm brown burr veneered timber frame. Visible details include the girl's red headscarf and skirt, the green pine branches, and the white snowy ground. The frame measures 68 cm high, 56 cm wide, and 2 cm deep. This piece suits an English Country House interior and works well when displayed above the mantel in a living room or hallway.

FAQs

Victorian chromolithography gained widespread popularity during the mid-to-late 19th century as innovations in planographic printing allowed for vibrant, multi-coloured illustrations to be produced efficiently for domestic decorative art.

Nineteenth-century prints were predominantly housed in solid wood or polished veneer frames, such as maple, walnut, or pine, frequently fitted with an arched card mount and a gilded inner slip.

Authentic period lithographs display soft, continuous tonal transitions or fine stippling under magnification rather than modern digital grid dots, alongside natural age-toning to the paper substrate.

Victorian period prints function well when integrated into a gallery wall mix of varied frames or positioned above a console table to introduce historical texture into contemporary schemes.

Position paper artworks away from direct sunlight and humid environments to prevent fading and foxing. Clean the glass with a dry microfibre cloth, ensuring liquids do not contact the wood frame finish.
