Description

Superb Knole sofa c.1910. With the high straight back and hinged sides typical of the form. Unusually this sofa also has low open arms, to which the hinged sides are attached, with crisply turned mahogany supports at the front. Over a sprung seat with two loose cushions. Recent upholstery in a very well chosen fabric with an attractive woven pattern, tassel ties at the sides and a tassel braid around the bottom edge. Raised on superb quality large brass castors. Serviceable upholstery with some small marks and wear (some pulled threads, most obvious at the back corners). Otherwise very good condition.
