Description

Unusual mid 19th.c. sofa of Anglo Indian or Colonial origin c.1860. Dark hardwood frame with an extravagantly shaped top rail with carved and moulded detail. Over a low padded backrest, beautifully shaped arms and sprung seat with superb quality vintage pale tan leather upholstery with unusual leather stitching to the seams, brass studs and piped edges. Plus two matching bolster cushions which fit snugly into the shape of the arms. Striking Egyptian inspired carved detail the arm fronts and a carved and moulded apron below the seat. Raised on turned and reeded legs front and rear. Excellent condition, only minor wear to the leather, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
