A charming antique Vienna cold-painted bronze model of an owl holding a mouse in its beak, dating from c1900. The owl has a wonderful expression and I especially like his big feathery feet.
These Austrian bronze models are always appealing, but I think the owl figures are my favourites. This small but perfectly formed example has a slightly surprised look about him, but also very clearly isn’t going to let anyone steal his mouse!
Condition: Very good condition, with some typical wear to the paint.
Dimensions: The owl stands 4.8cm tall.
