The Bodhisattva of mercy and compassion, elegantly sculpted, stands on a circular base, holding in her left hand a delicate lotus bud stalk, her hair piled into a tall topknot and adorned with the hokan (jewelled crown).
The reverse of the figure signed by the artist.

Kannon, the bodhisattva of compassion, is one of the most popular and frequently depicted deities in Japanese Buddhism. Kannon grants deliverance from suffering to anyone who calls upon his name.
Superb condition and patina.
