Large Japanese Bronze Charger, Silver Inlay,c1880

Description

Stunning late 19th century Japanese bronze charger, c1880. This is a large example, 33 cm diameter and weighing 1 kg. The bronze is beautifully decorated with reed beds, foliage etc and it has silver Samurai figures and cranes sitting proud of the surface giving it a lovely depth. The bronze has taken on great colour/patina making this a wonderful display piece. Overall condition is good, there are small surface marks and minor losses but all very much as you would expect from an old example.
