This small Art Deco wardrobe boasts stunning mirror matched figured walnut doors, along with elegant curved corners and edges and original Bakelite drawer handles. The right-hand door features the original working lock, with the original working key. All internal locking catches are present and in good working condition. The doors open to reveal a telescopic hanging rack to the inside, with an upper storage shelf. The left-hand door retains the original hanging rail. The telescopic hanging rails in good working condition. The two dovetailed working drawers retain the original Bakelite handles.
Condition Report:
This is a good quality antique English small Art Deco wardrobe, constructed from stunning figured walnut, with two doors and drawers, with small proportions, circa 1930, in good original condition. The wardrobe has been cleaned and traditionally wax-polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the patination and colour of an excellent standard. Nominal old use marks to the leading external edges, sides, feet and interior, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Dark natural figuring to the walnut on one side of the wardrobe. All internal door locking catches are present and in good working condition. The brass door lock is original and in working condition, with a working key. The wardrobe drawers retain its original shaped Bakelite handles to the drawer fronts. The drawers are free-running and close flush to the frame. There are no splits to the doors and they close flush to the frame. The interior is clean and the wardrobe is solid in joint and ready to use.
