Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Royal Worcester, established in 1751, became renowned for producing soft-paste and fine bone china decorated with intricate hand-painted motifs. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the factory specialised in ornamental ewers and jugs featuring highland landscapes, flora, and fauna framed by gilding.

Pieces from this era were slip-cast or mould-formed using bone china or blush ivory porcelain bodies. Specialized ceramic artists applied hand-painted enamels, followed by glazes and liquid gold leaf accents before undergoing multiple firings in high-temperature kilns.

Authentic items feature printed or impressed factory marks on the base, typically incorporating a crowned circle with a dot coding system to indicate the exact year of manufacture. Many hand-painted pieces also carry the artists handwritten signature within the artwork.

Ornamental ceramic ewers function as standalone accent pieces when placed on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or within a glass display cabinet. Grouping them with minimalist contemporary glassware or muted ceramic forms creates an engaging visual contrast in neutral room schemes.

Dust gently with a clean, soft microfibre cloth or a soft-bristle brush. Avoid immersing the item in water, using harsh chemical detergents, or applying abrasive pads, as these will erode hand-painted enamel layers and gold leaf gilding over time.
