Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Early 20th-century landscape oil paintings often combine impressionistic brushwork with traditional naturalism, capturing atmospheric light, water, and woodland scenes. Artists frequently focused on local topography, rendered with visible brushstrokes and rich tonal palettes.

These artworks typically feature oil-based pigments applied to stretched linen or cotton canvas, mounted on wooden stretcher bars. Frames were frequently crafted from carved wood or moulded plaster with gilded gold or bronze leaf finishes.

Authenticity can be evaluated by inspecting the signature, natural surface craquelure, and reverse side of the canvas for aged wood, stretcher marks, or framer labels. The depth and texture of the paint layer also distinguish genuine hand-painted works from modern prints.

Positioning a large landscape painting above a mantelpiece, sideboard, or console table creates an elegant focal point in modern or traditional interiors. The warmth of a gilded frame pairs effectively with neutral wall tones, balancing classic heritage art with minimalist decor.

Dust the surface lightly with a clean, dry, soft brush, avoiding chemical cleaners or water that could damage the paint or gilding. Hang the artwork away from direct sunlight, high humidity, and radiator heat sources to prevent canvas warping and pigment fading.
