Striking large late 19thC (Meiji) Japanese bronze horse made by the Tokyo Arsenal. The stallion is modelled standing four square with its head slightly turned to the right, raised on an oblong base, inscribed on the base ''Tokyo Kosho sei'' (made at the Tokyo Arsenal). Measures 40 x 37 x 14 cm, weight 7.45kg.
Superb condition and patina.
