John James Hamer A.R.C.A. (1867-1944) was Head of the School of Art, Huddersfield and President of the Huddersfield Art Society 1940-1944.

"Whitby" is a lovely atmospheric example. Measuring 7"x 11" the painting is signed lower right and is nicely framed in an oak frame giving an overall size of 17"x 20".
