Description

Stanley Orchart (British, 1920-2005) studied at Leeds School of Art and was known for his portrayals of the English countryside in both oils and watercolour. His work was exhibited widely and he also painted commissions. Her Majesty the Queen Mother was a major patron of his work.

The present painting "Aberford, Yorkshire" is a watercolour measuring about 10" x 14". It is signed lower right and is mounted and framed giving an overall size of 20"x 24".
