Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Equestrian sporting prints gained immense popularity in Britain during the 19th and early 20th centuries, documenting fox hunting, point-to-point races, and steeplechases. Artists such as Charlie Johnson Payne, known as Snaffles, captured both the technical detail and humours of country pursuits.

Prints from this period were typically created using lithography or gravure methods on heavy paper stock, often finished with hand-applied watercolour tinting. Frames were commonly made of stained dark oak or walnut with plain or gilded slip mounts.

Authentic prints feature distinct plate impression marks, crisp typographic captions, period-appropriate paper age tones, and artist blindstamps or signatures. Original colouration exhibits subtle tonal shifts rather than modern dot-matrix printing.

These historical artworks work well when hung above sideboards, mounted along hallway walls, or integrated into gallery wall layouts alongside minimalist black-and-white photography for visual contrast.

Keep framed prints out of direct sunlight to prevent fading of the pigments, and avoid high humidity environments to prevent foxing on the paper. Clean the outer frame glass with a dry microfibre cloth without spraying liquids directly onto the frame.
