Grand & Impressive - Antique English Double Inkstand / Inkwell C.1890

Description

A magnificent and very grand inkstand made from solid cast brass, this one is exceptionally heavy, weighing in at a hefty 20lbs or 9 kilos!! (yes, shipping is still included).

Each corner at the front is anchored with a mythical figure. The top has a variety of designs, including Art Nouveau stylised scrolls, almost celtic and include Scottish thistles in areas; this is where classical Victoriana meets the Art Nouveau era.

The two hinged inkwells each have a glass liner inside which would contain the ink.

This has been professionally cleaned to gleam. An important piece, it's been a while since I have seen such a quality example.

Impressive in size, measuring 15" wide x 6" deep x 8" tall (max).
