Early C20th carved walnut frame George I period revival settee with fine tapestry covering .

A faithfully produced high-quality copy of an important early C18th George I period walnut settee raised on three carved cabriole fore-legs with shell and hare-bell detail onto carved ‘claw-and-ball’ feet . The rear leg supports of shaped cabriole design onto pad feet

The frieze of the seat with carved scallop-shell details and having an authentic period-style cross-grain moulded edge to the seat frame . The shapely inverted scroll arms with carved eagle-head terminals.

The tall walnut-framed back with finely-worked floral tapestry panel with exotic bird detail. The shaped drop-in seat upholstered with corresponding tapestry cover . The underside of the hand-carved frame also constructed in the early C18th period manner .

A highly decorative Georgian period revival seat in excellent condition with only minimal wear to the tapestry.. The walnut frame having a rich , period-style colour and patina.
