Tom Scott Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.

The quality of this piece is clear to see from the book matched flame mahogany beaded drawer fronts with their inlaid and box wood stringing and bone escutcheons, but also internally as this chest has a fully chestnut lined interior and the top drawer is also segmented with moulded chestnut too, so the drawers glide effortlessly.

Certainly is a very beautiful and elegant piece of antique Georgian furniture which is thanks to those feet just raising the chest up a little off the floor, giving it the perfect proportions and great storage.

Equally this will make a very good decorative feature piece in any room.
The chest has the most wonderful warm Georgian mahogany tone and shows the flame and Cuban mahogany grain to their best.
